There is a story of about a sea captain who in his retirement
skippered a boat taking day-trippers to Shetland Islands.
They laughed at the old captain when they saw him say a prayer
before sailing out, because the day was fine and the sea was calm.
and the boat began to pitch violently. The terrified passengers
came to the captain and asked him to join them in prayer.
When it’s rough I attend to my ship!
————————————————–Is there a lesson for us, here?
If we cannot seek God in quiet moments of our lives,
we are not likely to find Him when trouble strikes.
We are more likely to panic. But if we have learnt
to seek Him and trust Him in quiet moments, then
most certainly we will find Him when the going gets rough.
But he replied,  “I say my prayers when it’s calm.
However they weren’t long at sea when a storm suddenly blew up
On one trip, the boat was full of young people.

Ecology

Ecology  is the scientific study of the relations that living organisms have with respect to each other and their natural environment. Variables of interest to ecologists include the composition, distribution, amount (biomass), number, and changing states of organisms within and among ecosystems. Ecosystems are hierarchical systems that are organized into a graded series of regularly interacting and semi-independent parts (e.g., species) that aggregate into higher orders of complex integrated wholes (e.g., communities). The biological organization of life self-organizes into layers of emergent whole systems that function according to nonreducible properties. This means that higher order patterns of a whole functional system, such as an ecosystem, cannot be predicted or understood by a simple summation of the parts. "New properties emerge because the components interact, not because the basic nature of the components is changed
